Question:
So, I'm going natural. I want you to know that I FULLY plan on stealing your hairstyles when I do. All of them. I can't wait until my hair gets kinky! Do you have any advice for transitioning? Hairstyles? How to maintain it at night?

I am glad that you have decided to go natural now! I have tons of information on my blog. For future reference, right under my welcome message on the right sidebar, you will see "search this blog". You can use the search engine just like google to search my blog for the info you are looking for. Anyhow, I have answered your questions below.

Advice for transitioning: You want to be sure to create a hair care regimen . Check out that post for more details on how to do so. Before you decide what products to purchase, be sure to determine your hair porosity. More than anything you want to spend your time transitioning by being extremely gentle, and loving to your hair. Deep condition often, don't use heat, finger detangle as often as possible to reduce breakage, etc. Here are some good posts about transitioning:
Maintaining your hair at night: This will make or break you in terms of hair retention. We constantly grow hair but if it is breaking off at the same rate it is growing, you will not retain any length. There are many methods to tying up your hair whether it be with a scarf, or bonnet. Some people like to spritz with water and re-moisturize before tying it up. Everyone has a different preference. Here are posts about maintaining your hair at night:
