Question of the Week: Transitioning Help, Please

My hair while transitioning, you can see
the straight and dyed ends!
Question:
Hey K!!, your blog helped me discover 1 Timothy 3:9-10......thank you!!
It was the answer to my question.  Conviction was upon fro quite some time with this subject matter and instantly I had a revelation.

I am battling with braiding my hair through the transition process. BUT, to me, it feels as if I am adding to what God gave me and I don't truly want to do it. Could you tell me how to transition without braiding? How did you do it. And, no, no more cutting my hair for me.

Answer:
I am glad that God has been dealing with you! Don’t worry if it takes time to adjust. You don’t have to throw everything out the window all at once. A lot of people see it, and move into it too fast without complete understanding and revelation. I would strongly advise you to get with your Pastor and talk to him. He will be able to answer any questions that you may have in the area of holiness and standards.

I transitioned with bantu knot outs most of the time. I would put my hair in bantu knots and wear it curly for about a week. It was a way to blend my new growth and relaxed hair. When it grew out more I did mini braids a few times with my own hair. That lasted for about 2 weeks at a time. I enjoyed that style as well. You can use the search engine on my blog (on the right tool bar to search transition styles. A lot of ladies have shared tips and I have shared some of my own as well) Also read the tab on the top of my blog called  Guide to Wearing Natural Hair for more help with transitioning.
