Why do I think this? Before we get to the spiritual aspect, think about it practically. I have heard many parents say that their children were their pride and joy! That means that they care for their children, love them, nurture them, protect them, etc.
Definition of Glory:

3

4
a : a state of great gratification or exaltation [when she's acting she's in her glory]b : a height of prosperity or achievement
5
: a ring or spot of light: asa : aureoleb : a halo appearing around the shadow of an object
The bible says:
"But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering"
(1 Corinthians 11:15)
So according to the definition above, if our hair is uncut it is our glory- our praise, our honor, our worshipful praise, our distinguished quality or asset, our great beauty and splendor,... etc. Isn't that powerful? It is our ring or spot of light, our halo appearing around the shadow of an object. I think God had something great in mind when he gave us this precious ordinance.
Taking all of this into consideration, don't you think this goes deeper than just "long" hair in length... uncut hair in the sense that you simply don't trim or cut... ? I believe there is a very important biblical principle in how we handle this glory we have been given.
Why are we letting the world set a horrible example for how we care for our God given glory. If we truly have a revelation of this- I believe we would step back and handle our hair much more carefully. Would it bother you more if you smell burnt hair from using heat too often if you knew you were damaging God's glory given you? Let's pray and ask God to give us a deep revelation about this. It goes so much deeper than the outward appearance of our hair.
"Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men"
(Acts 5:29)
What are your thoughts on this? How do you view your glory? Do you think that you are viewing it the right way?
